SAR High School’s Vaad program was developed in partnership with Lifnai V’lifnim, an organization dedicated to deepening connections and transforming relationships with oneself, with others, with community and with Torah and God.
Rabbi Shmuel Hain
Rabbi Hain is Rosh Beit Midrash at SAR HS and Rabbi of YIOZ of North Riverdale/Yonkers. He recently served as the Daniel Jeremy Silver Fellow and as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University’s Center for Jewish Studies.

Rabbanit Lisa Schlaff is the Director of Judaic Studies at SAR High School. She received an MA in curriculum development from Teachers College, Columbia University, completed coursework and exams towards a PhD in rabbinic literature at NYU, and is a graduate of Yeshivat Maharat. Rabbanit Schlaff has taught Gemara and Tanakh at the Drisha Institute and is an alumna of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship Program.

Ms. Shira Schiowitz is a Tanakh teacher and mentor. She spent most of her teaching years at Ma'ayanot Yeshiva High School and was one of the founders of Lamdeinu in Teaneck. Shira received her BA from Stern College and her MA in Bible from Bernard Revel Graduate School.
